First Freebie Coming Soon! (Sneak Peek)

My first digital scrapbook freebie (which is also my first digi scrap kit ever) will be right here at Happy Rain Or Shine starting on Sunday, March 1, 2015.

It's part of the Pixel Scrapper monthly blog train, and I'm so excited! Trying very hard to resist the temptation to post early...so how about some layouts? That way you get a taste of what's in store...

These layouts were made with my Gypsy Sea kits. One kit will be available for free download here on my blog, and the other freebie kit will be available on my Facebook page.

Of course there will be lots of other stops on the blog train, so make sure you save some space on your hard drives. I've seen several really yummy previews by other talented designers...so stay tuned!

How I Got Started Scrapbooking

At Pixelscrapper, a digital scrapbooking community that I belong to, we were asked to blog about how we got started scrapping.

I haven't really been doing digital scrapbooking for very long, and I can't remember exactly what got me started. Most likely I was looking for a background or clipart and stumbled across some digital scrap kits. It's so easy to get hooked! LOL

By the way, I have never done paper scrapbooking, but I do several types of paper crafts including decoupage. I've been doing graphic design and web design for several years. My husband is a graphic designer and web designer, so I learned a lot of what I know from him, and whenever I've wanted to learn something that is not exactly in his line of work, or when he doesn't have time, I learn from forums, web tutorials and YouTube.

Doing layouts of family photos is enjoyable for me, but I have not really had a chance to do very many yet. Mostly I have been downloading lots and lots of kits and templates!

Recently I made the decision to start creating my own designs, and that is why I created this blog, as a showcase for my work.

My first freebie kit will be ready for downloading at the beginning of March 2015, and it is part of the Pixelscrapper Blog Train.

Happy Scrapping!

Welcome to "Happy Rain Or Shine" Digital Scrapbooking

Thank you for visiting Happy Rain Or Shine, the Digital Scrapbooking blog that will soon bring you lots of wonderful digital scraps, digital papers and clipart freebies! Some of them will even be created by yours truly!

This is the very first post on my new blog, so it'll be a short one, but I want to say "congratulations to me" for taking this step forward. I'm studying very hard and learning lots of new techniques, and within the next few days and weeks I look forward to sharing not only my creations but also some of the behind-the-scenes activities and daily challenges.

In case you're wondering about the title "Happy Rain Or Shine", it has to do with my personal philosophy of always trying to stay in a happy state of mind, no matter what challenges come my way. I know that's often easier said than done, but I'm committed to keep on trying, and to be proactive about it (rather than letting people or situations get me down).

I designed and drew my logo, and the happy little sun among the clouds is there to remind me of my choice to be happy.

Sincere regards,
Marcy Coate
